Participants will learn how to assess, intervene, and manage a dangerous student and to guide their school community to respond quickly and appropriately.

Topics & Outline

Day 1: 8:30-3:30
  • The purpose, process, and critical steps of a threat assessment
  • Effectively applying threat (needs) assessments in a school environment
  • Commonalities of the school attackers and lessons learned
  • Reading (assessing) student behaviors and determining their true risk level
  • Distinguishing non-threatening behavior from threatening behavior
  • Making a 'snapshot' assessment and other immediate life saving actions
  • Psychology, mindset, and aftermath of murder as well as why kids attack schools

Day 2: 8:30-3:30
  • Calculating the potential risk level for future violence
  • Implementing effective & realistic methods to de-escalate dangerous situations
  • Administering effective discipline after a student has made a threat of violence
  • Integrating students safely and positively back into the school after being suspended for a threat of violence
  • Blending threat assessment procedures into the academic process
  • Responding to parents, the media, and other members of the community
  • Collaborating effectively with police and other critical support professionals
  • Protecting yourself and your school from legal and civil liability

14 hours of instruction.

Schools and police departments that register and pay for 3 or more participants, will receive the same number in free seats.

For example, if you register 6 you get 6 free seats to the trainings!


Seats can be shared between school personnel and law enforcement officers!

$6,875 for up to 50 participants!

Host the event at your school district, local Police Department, training facility, or police academy and invite up to 50 participants to attend.


This fee includes expenses, materials, and classroom instruction.


Host an event and receive 2 free seats!

Hosting a class is super easy! All you have to do is to provide a classroom and help advertise via your established networks. We'll do the rest. We create the flyer, registration page, process registrations, and handle all payments.


There's no fee to host an event.
Minimum class size is 15 and max is whatever the room can comfortably hold.
