why attend

how to spot the school shooter

You can't stop a threat if you don't understand the threat!

School shooters are not attacking schools because of violent video games, easy access to guns, medication, or because they're loners, been bullied, or have suffered personal trauma.

It's just not true.

What is true about school shooters, and we've studied over 80 years of mass murderers in our schools, is that...

  • 100% take at least three months to plan and prepare.
  • 75% give off a public indicator before they attack.
  • 90% walk in through an open door (80% through the front door)!
  • 10% fight their way into the school.
  • 75% attack prior to 9:30 in the morning.
  • 7% target the officer in the school first.
  • 70% are known to the school.
  • 100% recon the school at least once prior to the attack.
  • 100% attack to meet a need.
  • 100% commit an act of targeted violence (not random violence)!
  • 100% fail to fire all their rounds before the attack ends.
  • At least 3 have visited Columbine prior to their attack.
  • At least 75 have referenced Columbine in their notes.
  • At least 7 have murdered family members prior to their attack.
  • Every school shooter, anywhere in the entire world, has traveled down the exact same Path to Violence and progressed through the exact same 4 Stages.
  • And so much more

It's critical for police officers that you really understand how to spot the school shooter or you'll waste your time with kids who are not a threat and miss the ones who really are a threat.

Police officers who attend this 1 day, fast paced training will learn the following:
  • How to spot those on the Path to Violence.
  • Identify what stage a student is on The Path to Violence.
  • Quickly assess a person's current risk level with easy to utilize worksheets.
  • Distinguish normal from threatening behaviors in young people.
  • Assess (read) student behaviors and determine their true risk level...if any.
  • Identify behaviors that indicate the attack is imminent.
  • Effective techniques to mitigate and control a dangerous student.
  • Helpful steps to guide your school community to respond appropriately.
  • Protect your school and yourself against civil liability.
  • And so much more
